As you can see by this new post I haven't done this very many times. I have things out of order. I wonder how that happened. Anyway, I hope some day to be able to get this figured out. Just look at it like you would a puzzle. It's good for your brain.

Going to church on Sunday with Holly, Kevin, Zane and Nora. The dress Nora is wearing is the same one Holly wore when she was a baby.

Zane getting stories read by grandpa and grandma. He really gets into the plot!!! Zane would come in our room in the morning to make sure we were up. That wasn't very nice of Holly to take a picture of us in the morning. I am the one covering my face.

Holly and Kevin are such good parents. From the time Zane was born they have had a great nighttime routine. They read Zane a couple of stories of his choice, then they read a story from the Book of Mormon, followed by a couple of songs (I Am a Child of God and Now the Day is Over) after which they have family prayer and then they help Zane with his personal prayers. Then Zane hops right into bed. I snapped this picture after prayers...not during it.

Nora didn't really enjoy the restaurant as much as the rest of us but then again she hasn't had "real" food. Ron also had a huge shrimp salad. I had fried shrimp and Holly and Zane shared a huge plate of fish.

We also spent a little time at the outlet store in Lincoln City. Zane especially like the candy store.

As long as I had candy he was my friend.

We went to Portland last week (April 14-19) to see Holly, Kevin, Zane and Nora. We went over to the coast (Depot Bay) just to get some really good clam chowder. The Sea Hag has the best. Mo's is famous for their clam chowder but we all agree that the Sea Hag's is ton's better. It was fun to see the kids. Nora has grown so much and Zane almost didn't know who we were.

I just thought I would share this. A couple of summers ago we had a little family reunion at our house. Most of the family was here and we were having waffles for breakfast. I pulled out a new bottle of Mrs. Butterworth's syrup and everyone was enjoying their breakfast when Holly asked what that spot was in the bottle. It sure looked like a bug so we dumped the rest of the syrup out and sure enough it was a nasty looking thing. Everyone was immediately sick. Tanner suggested that we call the company but I didn't think that was a good idea. I said that for an apology they might send us a case of syrup and with that thought everyone was ready to let it slide. Check your syrup. To be really safe, make your own. Have you tried cinnamon syrup? It is yummy.
CINNAMON SYRUP:
1 1/3 cups sugar
1/3 cup water
2/3 cup white corn syrup
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 cup cream
1 tblsp butter
Combine first four ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in cream and butter. Serve warm.

Kyler is so easy to watch. He is the sweetest kid. He was totally engrossed in the movie PETE'S DRAGON here. He really needed a nap. School and physical therapy are so hard on him. I thought if I put on a long movie he might just close his eyes and have a little siesta but he just doesn't cave in to a nap no matter how tired he is.

I had just finished sweeping my floor and I turned around and Maggie had the broom out again. I guess she thought that I hadn't done a very good job. I would be willing to bet that in ten years if you asked he to sweep there would be a lot of whining.

I was watching Maggie and Kyler and it was past time for her nap so I put her in the crib with a doll. She screamed for a little while and then when I went in to check I could see that she had covered both herself and the doll up and was sound asleep. She is a real little mother. You can tell from the way an 18 month old acts that most of the way we are is inborn. She is so kind and loving to her dolls.
I took this picture of Ron coming off one of the hills on the Bear Paw Poppy trail in St. George. He is still reckless and a dare devil. The weather has been so nasty since we got back that we wish we had stayed in southern Utah for another week.
